Hydro Tasmania to sell Circular Head wind farm

Hydro Tasmania plans to divest its 140 MW Woolnorth wind farm assets with the aim of helping to finance its proposed $400m Musselroe wind farm.

The state-owned power generator is seeking a buyer for as much as 75 per cent of its Woolnorth wind farm assets, the firm announced on 5 September.

Hydro Tasmania currently has full ownership of the 65 MW Bluff Point and 75 MW Studland Bay wind farms, both on the Woolnorth property at Circular Head in northwest Tasmania.

Chief executive Roy Adair said he hopes the sale can be completed by year-end and that he expected the new financial partner to take a stake in the 168 MW Musselroe project.

Hydro Tasmania is also finalizing new construction contracts and the choice of turbine suppliers, he added.
