GE wins $895m wind contract in Brazil

Bioenergy Geradora de Energia has awarded GE an $895.3m contract to supply wind turbines for its projects.

GE will supply 207 turbines for 13 Bioenergy wind projects located in north eastern Brazil.

The agreement further includes furnishing of an additional 170 future projects.

GE is set to invest in a local supply chain in line with new local-content requirement of national development lender Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Economico e Social in a bid to sell the turbines with cheap debt, reported Bloomberg.
