The Brazilian state of Ceara expects to attract investments of $137.3 million in wind projects awarded in an energy auction held in the summer.
This amount accounts for 26 per cent of the cost of all wind farms awarded in the auction, according to an official statement.
The tender contracted a total of 19 wind projects with a combined capacity of 538.8 MW.
Of these projects, four wind farms will be built in the municipality of Trairi on the west coast of Ceara. The projects are developed by local utility Tractebel Energia.
Ceara has 59 wind farms in operation, with a total installed capacity of 1233 MW.
