Argentine state-owned Parque Eolico Arauco is in talks with the government and power market administrator Cammesa for 12 new wind plants of 50 MW each, local energy news site Energia Estrategica reported.

The firm, which operates the 50 MW Arauco wind park, wants power purchase agreements with Cammesa for new 300 MW at Arauco, which is currently expanded by 52 MW to 102.4 MW, the report said.

The park is expected to have a capacity of 400 MW and is be developed over a four-year period. The operator aims to finalize the deals this year.

Additionally, La Rioja’s authorities have proposed another 300 MW.
