Acciona Windpower, a subsidiary of Acciona, has signed a contract with CPLF Renovaveis for the supply, installation and maintenance of a 120 MW wind farm in Brazil.

The contract marks Acciona Windpower entry into Brazil’s lucrative wind market.

The company will supply 40 AW116/3000 wind turbines, each of which has 3 MW capacity, to the Atlantica wind farm located in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil’s most southernmost state.

The contract also includes an operation and maintenance service agreement for a period of 15 years.

Acciona Windpower also plans to establish a wind power component assembly plant in Brazil.

CPFL Renováveis is the renewable enery company of CPFL Energia, the largest private utility in Brasil.
