Acciona Energia Chile recently withdrew its environmental assessment for a 51 MW wind farm in Los Rios’ Valdivia municipality. However, local authorities are confident that it will reconsider its decision.

Los Rios public official, Henry Azurmendi, confirmed that this was not unusual, with many companies withdrawing their projects after receiving objections from public organizations.

Speaking to Radio Biobio, Azurmendi reaffirmed this does not mean the project is abandoned.

Acciona’s Pililin project comprises the installation of 17 wind turbines, with a height over 90 metres each, located in the coastal area of Valdivia.
