One person was killed and another three injured when a wind turbine collapsed during commissioning in China.

The 1.5 MW Ming Yang turbine in the Huaneng Tuokexun wind farm in Xinjiang province collapsed in high winds because foundation bolts were not properly secured, said Ming Yang.

The company, which provides turbines to China’s five largest state-owned power producers, said it was taking steps to ensure a similar accident could not happen.
