10 September 2002 – Japan’s Chugoku Electric Power Company has won an order for consultation work related to comprehensive repairs planned for a hydroelectric plant owned and operated by the Taiwan Power Company.

Chugoku Electric submitted the winning bid in conjunction with a Taiwan Power-affiliated consulting firm.

From mid-September 2002 through May 2006, Chugoku Electric will propose new technologies as well as construction methods, provide design guidance, and create post-construction operation and inspection manuals.

The power plant in question has been in operation for 70 years and is slated to undergo comprehensive repair work from July 2003 through July 2005.
