The Peruvian Ministry of Energy and Mines has given permission to Empresa de Generacion Electrica Apurimac (Emgeasa) to conduct feasibility studies into a new hydroelectric power facility.

The hydro station, which will be called Apurimac 2500, is expected to have an installed capacity of 150 MW, Biz News said.

The feasibility studies will be carried out within 24 months in the districts of Ccapi, Colcha, Huanoquinte and Paccaritambo, located in the department of Cusco.
