Nordex USA, a leading maker of wind turbines, has signed an agreement to buy shares in a project to develop a wind farm by Wind Energy in Chile, NOTIMEX reports.

The wind development has been cleared by the Chilean authorities to go ahead with the construction and exploitation of the 56 MW wind farm, the report added.

The project will be located approximately an hour north from Santiago, the Chilean capital.

The name of the project is Llay-Llay, which means ‘wind-wind’ in the local native dialect.

The US wind turbine manufacturer anticipates the installation of up to 20 of its Nordex N117/2400 wind turbines, which boost 90-metre towers.
