GE’s new 2.75 MW turbines will make their European debut at the first wind farm to be built in Fife, Scotland.

The company will provide nine turbines to the 24 MW Little Raith installation in Fife, which is owned by UK firm Kennedy Renewables.

Construction of the project is expected to be completed next year, when it is hoped that the wind farm will power 14,500 homes in the region.

Figures released this week by RenewableUK revealed that in the past year, 44 onshore wind farms totalling 985 MW went operational in the UK.
