Power firm Energia Eolica de Honduras SA is to invest $63m in the construction and development of a wind power project in this Central American nation.

The total installed capacity of the wind farm will be 24 MW, and it is expected to be operational during the first six months of 2013, the ministry said in a press release.

Honduras’s first wind farm, called Cerro de Hula, was inaugurated last February. It owned by Mesoamerica Energy and has a generating capacity of 102 MW.
