EGP signs new Brazilian wind power contracts

Italian company Enel Green Power (EGP) is to build three wind farms in the Brazilian state of Bahia. According to Wind Energy and the Electric Vehicle these plans will add 88 MW to the country’s installed capacity.

EGP is already developing other wind projects in that state, which are expected to add 146 MW.

The investment in the new wind farms is estimated to be $163m, and collectively they will produce over 400 GWh per year.

Brazil is a key market in EGP’s growth strategy. The country is one of the world’s leading renewable energy producers with over 98,000 MW of installed capacity.
