ContourGlobal eyes up expansion in Colombia

ContourGlobal Latam, a US company dedicated to electricity generation, is seeking to expand in Latin America, and as part of its strategy to find additional funding it is exploring the Colombian financial markets.

It will seek to invest in two main power plants and in the medium-term it wants to develop renewable energy projects that could include wind and geothermal energy.

The company has located its regional holding in Colombia, and it is evaluating the amount of investment it requires. It may supersede $300m says ContourGlobal.

The company currently owns and operates 835 MW of generating assets in the Latin American region.
