Last year, China boosted the production of electricity from wind by 41 per cent, bringing it significantly closer to its 2015 goal of 190 TWh, reports Bloomberg.

According to the National Energy Administration, the country generated 100.8 TWh of wind power in 2012, compared to the 71.5 TWh the previous year.

Total grid-connected installed wind capacity rose by 31 per cent from 47.9 GW to 62.7 GW.

Last August, China confirmed its aim to install 100 GW of grid-connected wind power by 2015.
