Chilean construction firm Besalco has added $50m to its hydropower portfolio, which boosts its overall investment in hydro projects to $610m, according to Valor Futuro.
Besalco’s portfolio includes 13 hydroelectric plants, with a combined capacity of 175 MW.
The investments will be made by 2019 via its energy unit Besalco Energia.
According to Sofofa, the Chilean Federation of Industry, one of the main projects in the company’s portfolio is the 20 MW Los Hierros, which is scheduled to become operational early next year.
