The Brazilian National Development Bank (BNDES) has extended a $270m loan to the renewable energy company Renova Energia, completing the project financing of its Alto Sertao II wind complex.

Seenews said that the company will use the loan to construct the Alto Sertao II wind power complex, located in the state of Bahia with an installed capacity of 386 MW.

Alto Sertao II is an ambitious project, comprising 15 wind farms situated in the southeast of Brazil’s Bahia state.

The combined installed capacity of the complex is 386 MW, and will use wind turbines supplied by GE Power & Water.

In addition to using the new financing for the construction and development of Alto Sertao II, Renova Energia also intends to use some of the proceeds to repay the $143m bridging loan secured from BNDES in December last year.
