Felipe Ceron, general manager of AES Gener, has confirmed his company’s commitment in the coming years to undertake important projects, which are expected to contribute more than 2000 MW to Chile’s electricity sector.

Ceron said that the company has in recent years made a “very important” contribution to the country’s energy supply, adding “over 1500 MW”, ‘Estrategia’ daily reports.

Some of AES Gener’s projects in development include the expansion of the Guacolda V thermal plant and the new 513 MWAlto Maipo hydropower facility.

AES Gener is owned by AES Corporation of the US and is Chile’s second-largest generator.
