The government of Peru have awarded contracts for three Spanish firms to build solar arrays in the Latin American nation.
The Majes and Reparticion projects (2 x solar arrays) will be developed by T-Solar in conjunction with Solarpack and Gestamp.
“We are building the plants with our own resources” says Pablo Burgos, chief executive at Solarpack.
Solarpack moved into Latin America because it saw Spain’s market becoming stagnant. “Now we are really seeing action in the market,” says Burgos. But he is certain the company can maintain a competitive edge by being able to offer good prices and knowledge of how the technology works locally.
