ASI of the United States is expected to start construction of a solar photovoltaic (PV) facility in Mexico’s southern state of Yucatan late next year.

According to El Financiero, the project is expected to cost $30m.

The solar farm will be built over a 120-hectares area that belongs to the municipality of Baca.

ASI has also confirmed it plans to expand in Yucatan over the coming years and is looking to install two more solar plants neighbouring areas, which reportedly will have a combined installed capacity of 240 MW.
