A 101 ha commercial and technology hub located near Derby in the UK’s East Midlands is now home to a 53 kWp on–site solar photovoltaic (PV) installation.

Expected to produce some 37 MWh of power annually, the system was installed by EvoEnergy on the rooftop of the new £11.8 million ($17 million) Innovation Centre.

In total, 212 Risen 250 Wp panels were installed covering more than 350 m2. The building also includes air-source heat pumps, natural ventilation and a floodwater drainage system.

The site, known as Infinity Park, is a joint venture between Rolls-Royce, Derby City Council and developers Cedar House and Wilson Bowden Developments.

James Clifford, National Account Manager for EvoEnergy, commented: ‘The fact that its design has had sustainability at its heart from the very beginning serves as an inspiration to other firms with green ambitions.’
