Two federally-operated tribal hospitals in South Dakota, US are being powered with on-site solar energy.

A 60 kW project in Pine Ridge and a 72kW project in Rosebud, utilising multiple 6 kW dual axis tracker systems from AllEarth Renewables, will help offset the electrical bills of the Indian Health Services hospitals, which serve the medical needs of the tribal communities and their members.

The tracker projects were funded with federal American Recovery and Restoration Act (ARRA) dollars while the primary contractor and electrical installer was LaCeek Development. Both projects were constructed by Amberg Renewables.
