Taiwan-based Billion Electric Co Ltd has announced the commissioning of a portable solar power station with energy storage in New Jersey, US.

Billion Electric said its demonstration project, dubbed Skynergy and housed in a standard shipping container, represents a collaboration with 10 Taiwanese green technology companies. It features a thin-film rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) array from GEAC, a lithium-ion battery from TD HiTech, a hydrogen fuel cell from M-Field and Billion Electric’s own energy management solution.

The mobile power station will be used as an electric bicycle charging station in its current incarnation, but Billion Electric said it can be adapted to provide emergency power.
