Hanwha Q Cells’ high-efficiency solar modules have been installed by ELSE Enerji at what is said to be one of the largest solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants in the fast developing market in Turkey.
The 500 kWp installation, which was connected to the grid on Tuesday, is located on the 17,000 m2 rooftop of Prokon AS’ steel construction and manufacturing factory (pictured).
The solar power plant will produce around 40% of the company’s electricity consumption.
Moreover, the project can be seen a reference for similar PV rooftop installations, focusing on self-consumption in Turkey.
The Q CELLS Q.PRO modules were selected by ELSE Enerji, which is a leading Turkish EPC provider, after products from six module suppliers were rigorously tested by the independent PV laboratory, Photovoltaik-Institut Berlin.
The institute selected the Q CELLS Q.PRO modules after they demonstrated the best results with regard to energy yield and performance.
In particular, the potential-induced degradation (PID) test showed excellent results.
German-based Hanwha Q Cells is part of the Hanwha Group, one of the largest business enterprises in South Korea.
