North Face powers up with PV

Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd is to supply 5445 PV modules for a 1 MW solar system at The North Face West Coast distribution centre in Visalia, California.

The system will be installed by EI Solutions, on RayTracker GC single-axis solar trackers and is expected to generate more than 2 GWh annually.
The new system will be installed over a storm water retention area located on the property, allowing dual use.

Scheduled to be completed by the end of this year, the system will be financed, owned and operated by San Francisco-based Recurrent Energy with the output sold to The North Face under a power purchase agreement.

‘By combining Suntech’s high efficiency solar panels and RayTracker solar trackers, we were able to maximize the power output of the solar system for The North Face,’ said Andrew Beebe, president of EI Solutions.
