Latin America continues its renewable energy push

Latin American nations are all ramping up their energy systems, with clean, green energy taking centre stage.

Energias Renovables highlights the ongoing projects in Brazil, which wants to treble its renewable energy capacity over the next ten years.

Chile is also expected to install an additional 8000 MW of green power up to 2020, while in Uruguay, the plan is to go further and have renewable energy producing half of the country’s electricity.

However, Mexico is the current leader in clean energy, with a current installed wind capacity of 1370 MW, and several important solar projects in the pipeline.
