Ikea has completed its latest rooftop solar installation, a 1.14 MW photovoltaic (PV) system atop a new store in Las Vegas, Nevada, US.

The system, supplied by Helix Electric, comprises 3620 solar panels across an area of 240,504 square feet (22,344 square metres) and is expected to supply the store with around 1,750,000 kWh.

The company said that, once it is commissioned, the array will be the largest single-use retail PV system in Nevada and Ikea’s forty-third on-site solar project in the US.

Currently, almost 90% of Ikea’s US stores feature on-site solar systems.

The Las Vegas store is set to open in May.
