Austrian Solar is planning a 100 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) project in the Chilean region of Atacama. The project’s environmental impact assessment (EIA) has been presented to the region’s environmental assessment service.
The $216m project, known as Sol de Los Andes, will be divided in two 50 MW construction phases, according BNAmericas, with work expected to start next July and each phase taking eight months.
This is the Austrian developer’s first in Latin America,
Once operational Sol de Los Andes will inject power into thecentral SIC grid via a new 23/110 kV substation, which connect to the 110 kV lines between Salvador and Diego de Almagro or Llanta and Potrerillos.
