RES Offshore has won a contract from Dong Energy and Scottish Power Renewables to carry out the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the West of Duddon Sands met mast and equipment for the next five years.
RES had previously installed the met mast in the Irish Sea in August. The 389 MW West of Duddon Sands Offshore Wind Farm is situated approximately 14 nautical miles off the Cumbrian coast.
The O&M services to be delivered by RES include scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the structure, platform and lattice tower together with the maintenance of the instrumentation and power systems which also formed part of the EPC contract.
Steve Clarke, Head of Operations at West of Duddon Sands said: “West of Duddon Sands is now an important part of the growing UK offshore wind energy fleet and we value the support of expert service providers like RES who help to ensure that our monitoring equipment is maintained which enables us to focus on generating low carbon electricity supplies.”
