REpower makes wind power debut in Alaska

German wind power firm REpower is to provide turbines for what will become Alsaska’s largest wind farm.

Eva Creek wind farm will be operated by Alaskan firm Golden valley Electric Association and will generate 24 MW using 12 of REpower’s cold climate turbines which are specifically designed for harsh weather conditions.

The deal marks REpower‘s first wind farm in Alsaska. The company has to date installed 800 MW in North America.
