Seven companies developing wind and solar energy projects with a combined capacity of 450.96 MW have been waiting for state-run energy distribution company Corporacion Dominicana de Empresas Electricas Estatales (CDEEE) to sign power purchase contracts for almost two years, reports say.

CDEEE is understood to be undergoing a discussion and negotiation process with representatives from the developers in order to incorporate addenda and amendments into their contracts.

The firm has said that these projects were not implemented on time. It has also accused the concession holders of having breached the contracts signed at the time.
