Historically glass flake filled epoxy resins have been widely used within the oil and gas industry for the protection of splash zone areas which can suffer from extensive corrosion. With the focus for offshore development increasingly focussed on wind power which has very different construction needs and with operators increasingly looking for improved corrosion performance this has led to the development of ultra-high solids glass lake filled epoxy resins which are better suited to use within the offshore wind power market.
