Newcastle United planning on CHP-powered training facility

Tyneside Council in northeast England are considering a proposal on whether to allow a new state-of-the-art training facility to be developed by Newcastle United Football Club.

The club plan that the proposed new training complex will have a combined heat and power unit at its core, if approved.

Facilities Manager, Eddie Rutherford, told COSPP online, “Planning is in the next few weeks and the final details of our power proposal will be finalised.à‚  I can confirm combined heating power is one of our options along with geothermal open loop bore hole system.”

The ambitious proposals for the new centre at Darsley Park in Benton, goes before North Tyneside Council’s planning committee on Tuesday, October 7th.
