New wind tower technology to be installed in Brazil may cut costs by 20 per cent by 2020 in the country, ADPnews Latin America said citing a local news site report.

Jornal Energia reported that Grupo ALKcom, a Brazilian industrial and energy equipment maker, is developing a steel lattice wind tower that will allow for a reduction in costs and will provide more flexibility during transportation and assembly.

ALKcom’s executive director Manasses Mendes de Mattos was quoted as saying that the project has been studied for three years now and the tower prototype is expected to be ready in less than five months.
