Spanish engineering and technology group SENER has appointed a new boss to the business arm that covers renewables and power.

Jorge Sendagorta Cudós will be head of the Engineering and Construction division, which comprises three business units: Renewables, power and oil & gas; Marine; and Infrastructure and Transport.

Previously, Cudós was SENER’s country manager in Mexico.

The Engineering and Construction area has branches in Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, South Korea, Chile, China, United Arab Emirates, Spain, USA, Morocco, Mexico, Portugal, the UK, and South Africa.

Cudós joined SENER in 2012 in the energy sector. He worked as assistant project manager in a biomass plant for ENCE in Spain. Later, he was project manager for SENER’s LNG terminal in the port of Zeebrugge in Belgium.

In 2015, he was appointed Mexico country manager, one of SENER’s main engineering and construction offices which has nearly 500 employees.

During his time in Mexico, SENER undertook the Empalme I and Agua Prieta I combined cycle power plants, two cogeneration plants for CYDSA, and the Afranrent cogeneration plant for Cryoinfra.
