The system was inaugurated by Omprakash Bakoria, Aurangabad’s municipal commissioner.
It is the third solar installation on the engineering and technology campus, MIT officials said, following two 100 kW solar systems installed last year.
In total, all three systems reportedly include around 775 PV panels.
MIT director-general Munish Sharma said the installations are expected to save the campus around 45% in power consumption.
In future, the institution aims to go 100% renewable and has already installed other green technologies, such as solar hot water heaters for residential facilities.
