Sacyr Vallehermoso has signed its first contract in Peru, which commits the Spanish firm to build two hydroelectric plants.

According to Efe, the contract was awarded by Generacion Andina and both projects will be carried out by Sacyr’s subsidiary Sacyr Construccion.

The projects are El Carmen, with a capacity of 8.6 MW and a gross annual production of 52.3 GWh and 8 de Agosto, 19.83 MW and 141 GWh,

As part of the agreement, Sacyr will also construct a transmission line to Tingo Maria.

Sacyr will handle the construction, supply of equipment, electromechanical assembly and commissioning of the plants.

The total value of the contract is EUR59m ($77.5m).
