Peru‘s ProInversion, an agency that promotes private investment in the country, has reportedly delayed bid submission for the Molloco hydropower project to 28 February 2013.

The project, located in the Arequipa region, comprises three hydroelectric dams – Machucoca, Molloco and Japo – totaling an output in excess of 300 MW, as well as transmission infrastructure, according to Andina, a local news agency.

ProInversion has already shortlisted four consortia for the project:

  • KHNP (Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power-Hydro Electric-Pyunghwa Engineering Consultants);
  • CEE (Corsan Corviam-Engevix-Enex);
  • Molloco River (Power Machines Equipamentos de Geracao de Energia do Brasil-Construtora Quebec-Quebec Inversiones del Peru); and
  • Molloco (Construtora Queiroz Galvao-Construtora Andrade Gutierrez).
