EDP no Brasil, the Brazilian utility, has completed the acquisition of 90 per cent of the rights to operate the Santo Antonio do Jari hydroelectric power plant (HPP), via its subsidiary Companhia Energetica do Jari (Ceja), a report said.

Last summer, EDP had said it had agreed a deal to buy ECE Participacoes S.A., owner of a 90 per cent interest in Amapa Energia, the consortium operator of the HPP.

The HPP, to be located on the border of the northern states of Amapa and Para, will have an installed capacity of 373.4 MW, ADP Renewable Energy Track said.
