Aneel, the regulator of the Brazilian power sector, has cleared for commercial operation two generation units, with combined capacity of 3.6 MW, at the Sao Sebastiao hydropower plant.

The power plants’ total installed capacity is planned to rise to 9.9 MW, according to SeeNews Renewables.

The facility, located in the Nova Trento municipality of southern Santa Catarina state, is owned by local firm Cotesa Geradora de Energia – PCH Sao Sebastiao.
