GE has clinched a $750m deal to supply 350 turbines to the US renewables arm of global energy giant BP.

BP Wind Energy said today it will utilise the 1.6 MW turbines across several projects being developed this year and in 2012.

The company operates 13 wind farms and chief executive John Graham said that about 30 per cent of this fleet was already powered by GE turbines.

“As we continue to aggressively expand our US wind energy project portfolio, we are pleased to be working with our colleagues at GE, a company with whom we have a long-term strategic relationship,” he added.
