US-based company Viaspace has announced that a feasibility study for the construction of a 12 MW biomass power plant in Nicaragua has been completed.

The station will be located on the 834-ha Giant King Grass plantation.

The feasibility study was developed over a six month period, and potential investors are being sought. Special-purpose firm Energía Reino Verde was created to oversee the construction.

The biomass plant will use rice straw and rice husk (pictured) as fuels.
