Exergy wins geothermal deal in Turkey

Italian company Exergy has won a deal for a 24 MW geothermal power plant in Turkey.

The contract is with Bestepeler Enerji àƒÅ“retim Ticaret and marks the second order from the Turkish energy firm.

Exergy will provide a two-pressure level Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) system equipped with two of its Radial Outflow Turbines, one for each pressure level.

The ORC cycle will utilize an air cooled condensing system, thereby avoiding the use of water.à‚

Equipment for the unit will be manufactured in Exergy’s Turkish workshop in Izmir, which will allow Bestepeler Enerji àƒÅ“retim Ticaret to take advantage of an increased feed-in-tariff that the Turkish Ministry assigns to ‘Made in Turkey’ technologies.

Exergy chief executive Claudio Spadacini said the repeat contract “cements Exergy’s position in the ORC market and our leadership in Turkey, with 315 MW portfolio achieved in five years”.à‚
