The Spanish firm Endesa will have a significant growth in Colombia with the setting up of one of its most important projects of recent times: the El Quimbo hydroelectric power plant.

The project, which required an investment of $12bn, will generate 2216 GWh per year from its 400 MW of installed capacity.

The firm will increase its energy generation by 16 per cent in Colombia compared to 2014, when it reached total generation of 13,559 GWh.
