El Salvador is looking to identify potential from its renewable energy resources and to analyze the various technologies available to exploit those resources.

This is according to a new strategy being spearheaded by the local energy authorities outlined in a $1.2m study led by the National Counsel of Energy (CNE) for the period 2012-2027, local news reports have said.

CNE is also seeking to become “a tool for the promotion of renewable energy sources via the use of solar, wind, geothermal and biomass energy,” the report said.
