Degerenergie, the German solar tracker maker, is to set up a new production facility in Queensland, Australia.

Demand is rising for the company’s Maximum Light Detection (MLD) solar tracking systems, particularly against the backdrop of attractive feed-in tariffs for solar energy, said Christopher Seng, the company’s international sales manager.

“With Degertracker systems, Australian consumers can generate green energy for self-supply,” he said. “Additionally, our systems create ideal conditions for the realization of smart grid, enabling intelligent distribution of surplus energy into the public grid.”

Degerenergie claims that its MLD technology can increase energy yield by 45 per cent from that for fixed systems.
