Colombia aims to boost wind revolution

Colombian authorities have adopted the Generation Expansion Plan – Transmission 2015-2029.

The Plan allows for the installation of new hydropower capacity, which currently makes up 70 per cent of the country’s installed power capacity, and also for the inclusion of “non-conventional renewable sources ” such as wind, geothermal, biomass and solar photovoltaics (PV).

Regarding wind, Colombia specifically projected 3131 MW, which would mean an increase of 20 per cent over the current total installed capacity. à‚
