Chile’s KDM Energia starts up biogas power plant

KDM Energia, a Chilean power firm, has opened its Loma Los Colorados biogas fired power plant that will supply 14 MW to Chile’s central power network SIC, according to a report by ADPnews Latin America.

The plant is operated by Chilean waste management company KDM and it was built 60 km north of the Chilean capital.

The plant will save 1.9m tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, the company said in a statement.

KDM and its subsidiary KDM Energia are owned by Urbaser-Danner Group.
