Chile will surpass its goal of reaching 20 per cent of its power generation from unconventional renewable energy by 2020, according to the executive secretary of the country’s national commission of energy, Andres Romero.
“Chile will exceed its energy goals,” the official said.
Chile has an installed capacity of 20 GW and the country comfortaby exceeded its 2015 goal of generating 7 per cent of its energy, Romero noted.
There were 547 GWh produced to September of this year. This represents 276 per cent above the official target of 7 per cent.
