According to local consultancy Soluciones en Gestion Ambiental (SGA), the $142m project will be developed 40 km east of Diego de Almagro city as part of Chile’s main interconnected system.
The electricity will be delivered through an existing 110 kV line of state-run copper giant Codelco.
SGA will be in charge of the environmental impact study.
Chilean renewable energy association Acera forecasts the installation of an additional 1200 MW to 1400 MW this year.
